The jury’s statement:

“The award of the Jury goes to MYMY by Anna Helme. We have opted for this film because – compared to most others – it chooses its own and very different way: no coming out, no unhappy love, but a truly queer research on loneliness, craving and identitypolitics beyond familiar gender duality.

On the formal level, the film goes its own way. Director Anna Helme mixes classical story telling and semi-documentary elements with performance art thereby creating fascinatingly laconic images, that seem difficult to understand at first, but have a lasting effect on the viewer.”
